The mission of Stichting Leeuwarden Student City (LSC) is to “enthrall and bind” students in and to Leeuwarden. LSC does this in three ways. On the one hand as an executive organization, where activities for and with students are conceived, produced and executed. On the other hand, LSC has a central information function, because it can link or refer students to other implementing organizations as a portal and point of contact. Thirdly, LSC is increasingly being asked in the role of participant or partner. Other (network) organizations want to organize activities for students together with LSC or to draw attention to their own offer. In this way, many actors contribute to the realization of an attractive student city. LSC often makes a substantive contribution to the conception, production and / or implementation of activities.
Student participation is high on the agenda and last year concrete steps were taken towards closer cooperation. In addition, a strong focus was placed on clear positioning and targeted marketing communication, whereby the Leeuwarden brand as a student city is loaded with appropriate associations, so that a potential student feels addressed and decides to choose for Leeuwarden. In addition to the current student population, captivating and binding is also of value to potential or prospective students. When choosing a study program, it is of great importance that there are sufficient options and facilities for a fascinating student life. Together with stakeholders and partners, LSC contributes to the development of the brand and image of Leeuwarden as a student city.
