The new Leeuwarden Student City campaign started in mid-February 2018. The campaign aims at increasing the visibility of Leeuwarden as THE student city, with more than 23,000 students out of 70 countries worldwide.
One of the main goals of the campaign is Leeuwarden become even more attractive, visible and findable for (inter)national students.
To let people experience what it is like to study in Leeuwarden, students are deployed; they
form the heart of the campaign. Through vlogs, blogs and updates on social media and the website they provide insight into life and studying in Leeuwarden and show what Leeuwarden has to offer and makes it a special city. The students themselves represent Leeuwarden Student City. They are the ambassadors, they are “the Independents”.
In addition to a completely new website, the focus is on offline and online media, with results that are far exceeding the expectations. In North Holland, Overijssel, Groningen, Friesland, Gelderland and Drenthe every weekend 1.3 million readers of daily newspapers could see the advertisements in which Leeuwarden is brought to the attention, for a for four week period.
Also, the ads were shown no less than 1.805.962 times via social media and the videos were viewed almost 353,000 times. Also curious about the videos? View them below:
