Culture 30-05-2018

The Leeuwarden Free Tour is the most successful city walks of Leeuwarden.

Experience Leeuwarden as you’ve  never done before!
In the last week of May, A Guide to Leeuwarden will offer some extra Free Tours to their program.
Every Tuesday and Thursday the public Free Tour will take place at 1:00 p.m. And every Wednesday there will be a Planet Escher Tour at 1:00 p.m.
Free Tour means, that in the end you can decide how much money you think the tour is worth it. Sign up if you like to join the tour at www.aguidetoleeuwarden.nl

Previously only public walks were offered during the weekend. From this week public tours will also be added on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

‘From the Tourist Information(VVV), Lan Fan Taal and Capitol Culture information points we get a lot of questions about more public walks around the best places of town’ According to Henk Leutscher.

Besides the extra two dates of the Leeuwarden Free Tour there will be also a Planet Escher Tour on Wednesday. Everything is possible at Planet Escher, like in the artwork of Escher.
We will see through the eyes of Escher. We visit his birthplace, learning about the technique he used and we will visit the artwork of Leon Keer. This walk starts at the fountain in front of the station. The old familiar tours will continue besides the new city walks. The extra Free Tours will take place every Tuesday and Thursday at 13:30 hours and will start at the entrance of Obe at the Oldehoofsterkerkhof. The Planet Escher Tour starts every Wednesday at 13:30 hours by the statues opposite the station.
