For many years, the Prinsentuin has been a popular location in Leeuwarden.
It is a nice chill place where you can barbecue, picnic, walk and watch the boats that pass by.
In the summer you can enjoy concerts in the music dome. These take place mainly on Sunday afternoons and are free to visit.
In 1648 the park/pleasure garden was constructed by Prince Willem Frederik van Nassau as a private garden. After the French revolution, the park was opened to the Leeuwarder population. Since then, the park has been rebuilt several times.
